MOTHER'S DAY THOUGHTS

On this special day, people throughout the world take time out to celebrate and honour their mothers. Although the dates and months of celebrating mother's day may differ from country to country, this is a special occasion to pay tribute to the person who probably had the most significant impact on your life.

I think the word Mother is best expressed in Howard Johnson's song composed in 1915.

"M" is for the million things she gave me

"O" means only that she's growing old

"T" is for the tears she shed to save me

"H" is for a heart of purest gold

"E" is for her eyes with love-light shining

"R" is right and right she'll always be

put them all together, they spell

"MOTHER",

a word that means the world to me.

Mothers have been offering advice since we were born, whether we want it or not. See if you can relate to some of these favourite sayings uttered by mothers all over the world.

Money does not grow on trees

If I talked to my mother like you talk to me....

Always change your underwear, you never know when you'll have an accident

What if everyone jumped off a cliff? Would you do it too?

If you have nothing nice to say about someone, don't say anything at all

Close that door! Were you born in a barn?

It doesn't matter what you accomplish. I'll always be proud of you.

Because I'm your mother, that's why

If I told you once, I've told you a thousand times

Just wait till your father gets home

Eat your vegetables. Think of all the poor children in China

If you fall out of that tree and break your leg, don't come crying to me.

Because I said so

Yes, I am the boss of you.

I slave for hours over a hot stove and this is the thanks I get?

Honestly, you'd lose your head if it was screwed on right.
